Welcome to New Mix Lab
NML specializes in the evaluation of raw materials for the construction of greens, tees, fairways, athletic fields and any other environment where turf is grown. It is a sister company of International Sports Turf Research Center, Inc. (ISTRC). ISTRC specializes in the evaluation of root zones after construction. At NML, our strength is the evaluation of the suitability of materials for the selected turf type and environmental conditions (air movement, shade issues, traffic, and water quality). It is our goal to provide the owner, architect, field manager, and superintendent sufficient information to make an intelligent choice of materials, and provide support through construction.

our services
NML offers testing services that provide a complete physical evaluation of materials used for the construction of root zones. The majority of NML's work is in conjunction with the testing of materials for golf course and athletic field construction, but it also extends to parks, common areas of a facility, and planters. There is an exception to our services: NML does not provide chemical testing of mixes or soils.

our research
NML is constantly conducting research with a two-pronged focus on improving the information provided to the client and improving our testing procedures. The reporting of test result values, in our estimation, provides minimal value unless those results can be correlated to predictable field conditions. As a consequence, we conduct field research to develop more precise correlations between reported test results and field conditions.
